When I presented my daughter with the Mighty World "Hanging Out" play set, she was overjoyed. She was so fascinated by the packaging and all the promise it had to offer. She already has a vivid imagination, so I wasn't sure how well this toy would build on her imaginative play.

As children do, she played with it immediately. The play set contained a lot of items, giving 3 possible scenarios in one set. I could tell from all the squeals of laughter and noises coming from her corner that she was enjoying her time 'hanging out' with the Mighty World Crew!

Problems arose when she was having trouble keeping most of the objects upright on our firm carpet - some of the items were small and fiddly, which caused mild frustration at times. This was remedied by giving her a large tray to put all her characters on. Another problem arose when she wanted to put one of her men on the scooter bike. As always, mum was on hand to help. But the trouble was, I couldn't get it to hang on to the handle bars. For fear of breaking it, I could only suggest that she tries 'balancing' him on it instead! Despite that, she was not put off and continued to play on happily.

We visited the Mighty World website and were impressed by the quality of characters and different scenes that are available. It was not a website that a 5 year old child could browse by themselves, due to a few hard words. However, it was colourful, inviting and easy to navigate. Sadly the games section was not working, so we didn't go any further than that.

The Mighty World Play Set certainly occupied her in a way that few toys ever do. Not only is she playing "hanging out", but she is also playing "hanging from the curtains", "hanging off the edge of the dinner table".....etc. [sigh!]
