The Lunar Jim Mega Hover Bubbles packaging was attractive, displaying the product to good effect. The character and the colours had a good bright theme, which certainly grabbed the attention of our young boy (2 years old) who wanted to use it as soon as he saw it. Not sure it would have the same affect for a girl though. Our older girls (6 and 9) were keen to use it but it didn't seem themed towards their age group or sex.
We found this toy really difficult to get on with. It all looked very exciting on the packaging and the idea looks really fun (amazing big bubbles blown by a fan) but it just didn’t seem to work.
We got a few impressive bubbles out at the beginning and then the liquid got all foamy and it just refused to blow any more, ever again. The shape of the bubble blower meant that it was tricky to put it down without it falling over and spilling liquid everywhere.
It proved to get very messy and our little boy just made it worse. He was very good at pulling the trigger which is supposed to create the bubbles but he just spilled more bubble liquid everywhere and made it even more frothy and useless. The most fun he got out of it in the end was just using the fan to blow air over his face!
It is not a product I would consider purchasing again, as the theme was not strong enough for kids to be concerned with and the toy itself wasn’t built well enough for them to play with.
