Why not buy a goat or maybe an animal care kit? At Oxfam Unwrapped, your gift could also be used to fund the livestock most appropriate to the individual community, depending on their circumstances and local environment. If you buy a toilet or safe water, your gift could also be used to fund other items and services related to the provision of clean water and sanitation.
Other gifts, such as; teaching a teacher, textbooks, school desks and chairs, girls’ clubs , kitting out a teacher, renovating a classroom and school dinners may also be used to support other educational work, including adult literacy classes.
How Your Gift Works
All the gifts at www.OxfamUnwrapped.com are needed. The people Oxfam work with around the world tell them what items they need to make the biggest difference in working themselves out of poverty. Oxfam responds flexibly to varying needs across the world as they occur. So in some cases what they will have shown is an example, but they will always spend your money on a related item. This approach means that the communities they work with can use items that are most appropriate to their needs at that time maximizing the chances of beating poverty and suffering.
